For clarity purposes, any reference of NOD, N.DBF and N.REL files has been omitted. These files are always present with ARC, A.DBF and A.REL. In the 1.x version of these files, the files DVT, DVA, DVP and DVN are the documentation files of the PNT, ARC, POL and NOD files, respectively. In version 2.0 these documentation files disappear, but their contents is included within their REL files.

Option 1 of program TestTop outputs a list of topological errors which are produced when two polygons with the same label (attributes in the database) are side by side.

This kind of error may be due to two different reasons:

A boundary arc splits an area into two zones which are actually the same (Error1).
The point file that contains the labels has labels with the same value for adjacent polygons (Error2).
